Aventurine prices are reasonable due to its abundant supply. In India, Aventurine prices begin at Rs. 125 per carat. The price of the stone is affected by a number of factors. Here is a list of them.
Aventurine comes in a variety of colors besides green, such as blue, yellow, and brown. The market commands a higher price for pure and uniformly colored Aventurine.
Cut and shape-
This factor does not have much impact on the astrological significance of the stone. However, when worn in an ornamental way, cuts and shapes are crucial.
Known as aventurescence, Aventurine is composed of naturally occurring mineral inclusions that produce a shimmering appearance. Sharp inclusions are associated with a higher price of the stone. A stone with sharp, evenly distributed spots has a higher price and value on the market.
Aventurine’s quality varies based on many factors such as origin, cut, clarity, and treatment. The following are the factors that should be considered while making a purchase.
Aventurine is found in-
Green and blue-green aventurine is primarily found in India. The most common places to find them are in Mysore and Chennai. Chile, Spain, and Russia yield a variety of Aventurine in creamy white, gray, and orange colors.
Aventurine is usually thought of as a green variety of quartz, but it can occur in a range of colors including brown, orange, yellow, red, blue, etc. However, other colors do not usually occur as gem-quality gemstones. Also, the most common form of Green Aventurine has an appearance of mid-to-light green due to fuchsite inclusions. The size and number of inclusions affect the color of the Aventurine.
Cut and Shape-
Cabochons are the most common cut style for Aventurine. In relation to astrology, the shape of the stone may be decorative, but there is no astrological significance to it. A variety of shapes and sizes are available, including traditional round, oval, cushion, and many fancy shapes like trillions, pears, and hearts.
Aventurine is characterized by platy mineral inclusions that appear in the form of golden to white-colored spots. As a result, the inclusions create a glittering or shimmering effect known as ‘Aventurescence’. A stone’s quality increases if the spots are sharp and evenly distributed. Also, Aventurine’s clarity levels can vary from translucent to opaque. A specimen that is opaque usually contains an excess of fuchsite inclusions.
Aventurine usually is not enhanced or treated in any way. As a replacement for Aventurine, imitations have been made out of a variety of materials; the most commonly used is the goldstone Italian glass.
Aventurine stone should weigh at the very least 1/10th carats of your body weight. So for instance, if your body weight is at 60 kgs you should wear a stone which is 6 carats or more. For Feng Shui or general good luck, you can go for even bigger Aventurine stones (up to 10 carats or 11.25 ratti).
An Aventurine stone should ideally be free of spots and be radiant and uniform in its colour to be most beneficial.
